Real Box Score web site got actually started as a Nokia Internal corporate blog around 2006 or so. At that time, it focused on technology, just borrowing the name from j-p’s enthusiasm to sports. After leaving Nokia at 2012, j-p continued for awhile the same blog on the public Internet, and incorporated the company in order to be able to do certain consulting gigs such as:

  • Community member at Kaato business-in initiative, helping international technology companies to set up presence in Finland, Aug 2012 onwards
  • Consultant to Ministry of Employment and the Economy on a subproject of ICT 2015 task force, Nov-Dec 2012
  • Product strategy and definition work for a cloud based Internet company, May 2013 onwards and then an interim stint as its CEO from March 2014 to September 2014.

In the fall of 2014, the company pivoted its focus purely to the intersection of sports, technology and coaching.
